The rhythmic structures of Constellation-Miroir are far more flexible than what Boulez had written in his previous piano compositions. Based on a detailed analysis of several excerpts both of the score and of sketches, this essay looks upon rhythm/figures relations as well as acoustic qualities ; it ends with an interpretation of the ways Boulez considers musical time and transforms the traditional concept of "oeuvre".
